City Manager Darin Atteberry presented the City's new logo at the July 1 Council Meeting.

In June, nearly 5,000 people weighed in with their reactions to three different logo options. 1/3 of people supported each of the three options; despite the mixed messages, the feedback was clear in some respects.
The decision to accept the logo as the new City logo was not taken lightly. Extensive research and data collection demonstrate that it makes good business sense to do this now. The existing City logo has been in place for more than 30 years.
The replacement process will be true to the financial and environmental values of our organization and of our community. The logo will be phased in as current supplies are depleted and on damaged property that would have been replaced anyway. Other property will be replaced as budgets allow. This process may take up to eight years.
The community branding effort is part of the City’s Economic Action Plan and is designed to attract primary jobs, as well as visitors, and to allow community partners to work together in telling the Fort Collins story. One small part of the project is a new Fort Collins logo.
