LED Lighting
Conventional incandescent lighting is being replaced as more efficient technologies develop and prove to be reliable and affordable. Compact fluorescent lighting (CFL) is rapidly increasing its market share. Light-emitting diode (LED) technology may be the next step in lighting efficiency. LEDs are increasingly being used for traffic lights, holiday light strings, flashlights and nightlights. While LEDs currently are not the best choice for most general lighting needs in homes or businesses, the technology is quickly evolving. LED lighting products are becoming more efficient, less expensive and better suited for many uses. Check out the LED Basics fact sheet (PDF 193KB) to learn more. |
