Future Parks
The Park Planning & Development Division plans the City's parks in two areas: neighborhood and community. Smaller in scope, neighborhood parks are intended to provide balance amid Fort Collins' growth. Community Parks, larger in scale and amenities than neighborhood parks, contain a blend of active and passive areas. Park planning tries to allot 2.5 acres for every 1,000 people for neighborhood parks, and 4.5 acres for every 1,000 people for community parks.
