Real Time Flood Inundation Mapping
This has been another busy month for this project. The generation of the mapping information continues, and we are now writing the RFP for the modeling portion of the project.

OEM Website
We have added a new page to our OEM website titled "From Civil Defense to Emergency Management." The page briefly discusses the history of Emergency Management and displays a library of insignia worn by Civil Defense workers during World War II. The insignia were reproduced by our graphic artist from a 1942 brochure distributed to assist civilians in identifying military and Civil Defense uniforms. 530 AM Local Emergency Radio
We debuted our emergency radio station this month which will provide continuous emergency information to the Fort Collins Community. During emergencies, we will have immediate instruction and up-to-date weather and disaster information for the public. At other times we will air preparedness and mitigation public service announcements.

Emergency Auto-Dialing System
Work continues on this project with details being finalized. We are now in the process of connecting Poudre R-1 School District to the system. They are a partner in this project.

Training
Iola Fleischer attended the "Project Impact: Building Consensus for Disaster Resistant Communities" workshop at the Emergency Management Institute in Emmitsburg, Maryland during the first week of November.

Notification Education Promotion
The promotion campaign designed to inform the community about our new emergency notification methods is underway. The campaign will include videos, brochures, information packets, refrigerator magnets, presentations, and more. The video, working title "Fort Collins - Growing Towards Disaster Resistance," will be produced by the City's television station, Channel 27.

Stormwater Community Meetings
The Utilities Department held open houses for the West Vine and Canal Importation Drainage Master Plan Updates. The purpose of these meetings was to share information with the residents in these areas about the flood master plan update being developed.

Flood Safety Bumper Stickers
The utilities department is designing bumper stickers to be placed on city vehicles during flood season that will warn residents about the dangers of driving through flooded areas.
