Business Spotlight: Gen Green
Gen Green is a new online clearinghouse of resources for people who want to live a more sustainable, locally-focused life. Charisse McAuliffe started Gen Green in Fort Collins in late 2006 as a way to network all the great "green" initiatives and programs occurring in our city. Gen Green has grown to a staff of nine, with Casey Verbeck as their C.E.O.
The Fort Collins site went live in September 2007; today more than 350 cities have local resources and networks on GenGreen.org. Get local, Get green!
Road Construction Projects
Harmony Road, Timberline Road and Lemay Avenue are experiencing multiple paving and construction projects this summer. To get the most up-to-date information, visit the City's Cone Zone website. By planning ahead, staying alert to orange construction signs, and giving yourself extra time to get around town, your commute will be calm and cool.
Development Review Center
The City's Development Review Center has undergone many improvements since 2006. Specific changes were made based on suggestions from the local business and building community. The DRC is constantly striving to provide outstanding service to customers. The Current Planning department is a "one stop shop", where representatives of various city departments are located in one office to offer speedy answers and approval.
Monthly financial reports
Released the third week of the month for the previous month, the City's monthly financial report is available to the public. The report is a monthly summary of the City's General Fund expenses and revenue, and of the four different revenue departments of the Fort Collins Utility: Light & Power, Water, Wastewater, and Stormwater.
